Thanks Phil,
That's most helpful. I had assumed it would be continental without ruling out all UK options first.

Five Unknown Marks on Kiddish Cup - Help Please
Hello,
Can anyone shed any light on these marks which appear on the rim of small, rather crudely made, goblet which I presume to be a Jewish Kiddish Cup?

Thanks,
Tom.

Re: Colonial Buckle
Hi Ben,
A bit of googling shows a 'Jerger Jewelers' at 130 S. Broad Street, Thomasville, GA 31792, USA, phone: +1 229.226.4034.
Their motto is: 'The trusted name for diamonds and fine jewelry since 1857' so they have been around long enough to have made your buckle.
It's not the commonest of names ...

Sorry
Hi Leslie,
Sorry if this is dissapointing but your items are most likely made of pewter and not silver. I have similar spoons as per photos. I suspect they are reproductions of shipwrecked 'pirate' items recovered from wrecks and sold as souvenirs in a museum shop in Jamaica.

Thanks
Hi silverport,
Thanks for confirming the inscription is Portuguese and thanks for jogging my memory regarding the '14=875/1000'. This is the old 'Loth' standard of the Germans and Austro Hungarians. You have given me scope for further research.
Thanks,
Tom.

Help please marks on Spanish Portuguese Goblet
Hi,
Can anyone identify these marks on an apparently silver goblet which has the following Spanish or Portugese inscription: 'Ao Club de Regatas 6 de Janeiro 1875 Transportes Urbanos'. It stands 7 1/2" (19cm) in height.

Nothing among danish silversmiths. But there is a norwegian mark that has a sertain similarity - though no exact match. But similar mark for Hannibal Holm in Larvik he was born 1739 and living in Larvik before 1773. in 1789 no business registret for him and in 1800 on the 7th of June he dies.

Help please. HH mark Scandinavian - Danish?
I have pair of 1775 dated silver tea-tongs / sugar nips which have a 'HH within a heart' mark. I am reliably informed that, stylistically, these are likely to be of Scandinavian origin and am seeking help in identifying the maker. Any suggestions?

Searchable database - Edinburgh & Glasgow makers.
Sorry if this is old news but I couldn't find any reference to this in the 'links' page or by searching.

Help please. French marks? on goblet.
I would be very greatful if someone could help me identify the marks around the foot of this little 12cm high goblet. Could the crowned 'C' be a French date letter for 1719?

What is this? - dish base? teapot stand? ????
Hi,
Does anyone know what this? It appears to be a base or stand of some kind. It measures 23cms in diameter (inc handles) and weighs 284gms. Hallmarks are J. Dickson & Son, Sheffield, 1860~61.
Thanks in anticipation,
Tom.
