Danish? silver cufflinks with maker's mark A.C.B.

Hi, does anybody know the maker's mark A.C.B. as shown on these cufflinks? I guess it to be Danish, but I'm not sure. It's not in the list with the Danish makers, and I tried to search with Google, but ACB has too many results. http://i43.tinypic.com/288rz82.jpg http://i41.tinypic.com/w1a87o.jpg Tha...

.. keeps on being suspenseful, then. But the Braunschweig city mark looks very alike, too, doesn't it?
IGR would be Johann Georg Renner
I will try to find out something about him. Is it sure that he had IGR as a mark?

Thanks!

Hi, thanks a lot so far. It hasn't been me who wrote that with the Christmas mark. This was a one year old post of somebody else and his pictures are gone. I just reactivated this post a few days ago because my cufflinks seem to show related marks. Hopeajaloste Oy is a good advice. I'm still interes...

Hi again,

just want to give a short report. The heraldry experts have found out that the crest is very probably the crest of some Mr Hoinckhusen of Mecklenburg. He has been ennobled in September 1716. So everything seems to fit very well together!

Best regards

That's quite interesting. There's a Wikipedia site with different types of crowns http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rangkrone - considering those pictures, it doesn't even seem to be a duke's crown but one of the lower aristocracy without a title. I've posted the crest on a German heraldry board now. Per...

Great - thanks again, JAKJO. The marks look very similar to me, too.
How come you think the crest to be the crest of a count of all aristocrats? Sorry, I assuredly know less of heraldry than you.

Thanks a lot so far! The mark could also read IGB, it's not so well recognizable on the photo. but the top - is that not after 1750? I have no idea regarding marks - but the top? Hi hose_dk: that is perfectly possible because the second candlestand goes without that top without having any traces of ...

Hi,

thanks! I did but I could not find a matching one. That animal mark seems to be a lion. There are lots of lions in German city marks but none exactly like this.

Danish? brooch with 830S and scales hallmark

Hi, this is my third and my last question for today. I've got a brooch which I think is Danish or perhaps Norwegian. It has very clear hallmarks as shown on the picture. Can anyone give some help concerning maker and age of the piece? http://i44.tinypic.com/a9oemt.jpg http://i40.tinypic.com/r7umxj.j...

Candlestand 19h century

Hi, I've got a pair of candlestands, I guess they date from 19th century. I also GUESS they are German or Austrian, but I don't know. I hardly know anything about them, but I'm quite sure they are silver. Has anybody any help concerning those hallmarks? http://i43.tinypic.com/2z8rwa8.jpg http://i43....
