I wonder if anyone here can help me to identify this perculiar silver plate mark?
It has first a Maltese cross inside a square with a cut corner, then a mark which resembles a fake lion passant, also in a square with cut corners, then a mark I can only describe as a pair of feathers with a snake ...

Now I have a set of tongs which I am struggling with.

I think I have made out the marks as follows:
Dublin, 1820, retailer John Twycross, maker (and this is the bit that doesn't add up) J.M
