Re: Florentine cutlery set

Hi JayT the auction closed without the reserve price being reached, but it is likely that the lot will return to auction in some time, if so I will post information. I contacted the seller telling him that the "Marzocco", as the sitting lion is often called, did not come into force before ...

Florentine cutlery set

I recently saw a set of cutlery described as 17th century on a well-known Dutch online auction platform. https://i.postimg.cc/ZR1b1B4d/CHIARA-SCOTTEX-POSATE-1-copia.jpg It goes without saying that anyone with minimal knowledge of cutlery can see that it is cutlery from the mid-nineteenth century or ...

I don't know the mark of Gebrüder Deyhle , Schwäbisch Gmünd, however I find an extraordinary similarity with the maerk of Alignani , 28 MI https://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=216733&hilit=28+mi#p216733 https://i.postimg.cc/DyVZMQN1/zenza-titolo-2.jpg Another possible candidate Best Am...

Re: help to identify an object

Silver items with the insertion of hard stone cabochons was fashionable in Italy in the 1930s and 1940s. The 800 mark within the oval would confirm the Italian origin and the other mark could be a homemade punch awaiting the arrival of the official one from the mint. It's not the first one I've seen...

"Such a fine intaglio". What would be the material of the intaglio? I don't know if you have other photos of the intaglio. The ones you posted are somewhat blurry, and it's not possible to judge the quality. I think it is completely normal to ask the seller for images of the marks, if any...

Re: Italian holy water holder

Ciao Krisztian I saw your post and did some research, unfortunately to no avail. The Milan's marks seem genuine, but in the books I have, no silversmith with that mark is listed. Gianguido Sambonet, in his book "Gli argenti milanese" records the existence of a workshop dedicated to the axe...

What I can say is that the 123 CO mark corresponds to the FALA company of Carugati Paolo, via Bernasconi 2 Cernobbio. The company still exists, and at this address https://www.argenteriafala.com/it/ You can read "Do not hesitate to contact us for any information on our products". I sent an...

Hello everyone I return to a topic from a few years ago whose images are deleted. https://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=149588&hilit=cake+stand#p149588 https://i.postimg.cc/4y7tPSKN/oriental.jpg Then, it was said that one of the two marks, I don't know which, meant pure silver. In reali...

This is beyond my knowledge.

Re: Skandinavian (?) beaker I.

I don't seem to see any particular similarities with the hallmarks of the Kingdom of Naples at the end of the 17th century. The outline of the mark is never oval, but follows the shape of the crown at the top, and then forms a sort of shield containing the letters NA or NAP and the date numbers. htt...

I found the information in one of the 5 books that are part of the "punzoni dei preziosi italiani" series. These are very difficult books to find, and frankly I would not recommend purchasing them. https://i.postimg.cc/C1ngKrjW/LIBRO2.jpg They were given to me by a dealer who participated ...

Re: Italian Gold registration number

The 585 marks within the truncated lozenge and star/number/city code are certainly Italian, but the third mark does not appear to be. It is probable that an artefact coming from abroad was put on the market after having been marked with the (Italian) law hallmarks. If the number is 896 VI, then it b...

Thanks everyone for the contribution. However, they are difficult roads to travel, I found very little information on the internet about Mexican, Brazilian or Israeli stampings. A monstrance

Hi everyone I was asked to identify some sacred vessels, including this monstrance. https://i.postimg.cc/ZKPZF13W/ostensorio2.jpg On the three flat parts of the foot there are some marks that I have never seen before and which frankly don't even seem like hallmarks to me. https://i.postimg.cc/7ZY6Cx...
