Antique Persian Silver Items, Hallmark ID?

Hey All, I recently acquired a bunch of Persian silver from an estate collection, and could use some help with the hallmarks. I know one mark is for the silver fineness of 84 (or 875 silver), but don't know what the maker's mark is. (admin edit - see Posting Requirements ) If anyone can help I would...

Very cool! Great box, that's a piece I'd put in my collection :) Surprised that one is 925 but likely made in Hanau?

Re: HUGE Urn Pitcher & Underplate...Hanau Silver or Much Older??

Hey AG, after cleaning some dirt and grime off both pieces, I found some hallmarks I never saw before! It says "KREMOS ROMA 800." After doing some very basic research, Kremos produced silver in Italy (obviously hence the Roma mark), and I guess he was even partnered with the famous Bvlgari...

HUGE Urn Pitcher & Underplate...Hanau Silver or Much Older??

Hello all, My good friend and I were lucky enough to come across an absolutely incredible solid silver urn, or pitcher, with the matching underplate, and it has some very old silver hallmarks on the bottom, as well as on the neck of the urn. I actually found a demitasse cup and saucer that I posted ...

Antique Georg Roth & Co. ?? Bowl & Plate Hanau Silver

Hello all, I recently acquired this gorgeous silver bowl and cup, and I have been trying to learn more about the hallmarks it has. Now, I don't have a lot of knowledge on Hanau silver, and it's been very interesting to read about it. Can someone confirm that the hallmarks are for Georg Roth & Co...

Re: Persian Silver Teapot (?) Hallmarked

AG, Thank you, that is great news! Exactly what I was hoping for. And Samovar is the term I was originally told, now I remember! Excellent. A maker would be incredibly helpful but if not that's okay. :)

Persian Silver Teapot (?) Hallmarked

Hey all! I was incredibly lucky enough to buy this beautiful set at a flea market recently, and I would love to get some other opinions. I've sold a lot of Persian silver, but I've never been able to identify or read what their hallmarks actually mean or say. The design is typical for Persian silver...

"ISPorter Utica H" ?? Coin Serving Spoons!

I got an incredible amount of large coin silver serving spoons, and need help with identification. I have 4 different makers, and about two pounds of silver. I know you are only supposed to list one item per listing, so I'll have to make a couple (please help with others as well!). These 4 are marke...

Large Serving Spoons - Very old English? Help!

I recently got a whole bunch of coin silver spoons from a tag sale, and included were these 4 serving spoons. I don't know if I'm in the right section, I just remember something about hallmarks having a lion, or jester, with a crown as being English. The hallmarks are very large, and I'm pretty sure...

Huge 585g Handled Server? Help w/ Old Hallmarks

This is probably one of my nicest silver finds. I need help from all the nice people on this forum! This piece is in amazing condition, and believe it to be pretty old, but I can't figure out the hallmarks. I don't usually deal with pieces this large (585 grams), so any extra information would be in...
