Help Identifying Augsburg Hanau Silver Dish

Hi folks, Can anyone identify the marks on this silver dish? It was purchased as part of a lot from an established dealer closing down. German silver flatware - BG maker?

Hi folks, I've recently gotten my hands on this 800 silver cutlery set, with the steel knife blades made by Rostfrei Solingen. Now I'm just trying to identity the silver maker, and not having a lot of luck. Does anyone recognise these marks? Thank you :) https://i.imgur.com/IjfATPh.jpg https://i.img...

Unknown Mark - Early Spoons?

Hi there, I recently acquired this pair of spoons, and the only marks are on the underside of the bowls as per the photos. Can anyone decipher or make any sense of these? I don't even know where to start researching. Thank you, Will https://i.imgur.com/uAR0HPJ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/wwOwnyA.jpg htt...

Re: Has anyone ever seen these hallmarks?

Thankyou to both silverfan and Bahner for your help with this. Would we think 60 would mean the silver plate was 60 microns thick? That seams quite thick, but as I said earlier, there are no wear signs in the usual areas (under the bowl specifically).

Has anyone ever seen these hallmarks?

Hi there, Trying to identify the marks on this large pouring ladle. There is no obvious silver-wear in the normal resting places, so I don't know whether it's plated or some sort of silver. I'm hoping someone might be able to lead me in the right direction? Thank you in advance. https://i.imgur.com/...

Re: Dutch Silver Chair Hallmarks

Peter, thank you very much. It is indeed the crab signalling 800 purity silver. There doesn't appear to be much information on French silversmiths available on the web, but at least I can start here and try and find more information. Thanks again.

Dutch Silver Chair Hallmarks

Hi there, I'm assuming this silver chair is Dutch in origin, but can't seem to find any information on the marks on the piece. Does anyone recognise any? https://i.imgur.com/oCzjVMx.jpg https://i.imgur.com/u1gTGK6.jpg https://i.imgur.com/NOX15Xs.jpg https://i.imgur.com/JdXHvf7.jpg https://i.imgur.co...

Re: Makers mark on Russian silver/enamel napkin ring

Thank you very much for your help. (admin edit - see Posting Requirements ) If anyone else has some information on the mystery MC maker, it would be greatly appreciated. Can we all agree that this napkin ring is the stamp of assayer Ivan Lebedkin (Moscow) though? I'm looking for a rough period of pr...

Hi there, I'm having a little big of trouble identifying this item. I found it in a job lot of silver plate, but I'm 99% certain it's sterling. Can anyone help with some basic info? (admin edit - please read the Posting Requirements ) Thanks in advance, Will [img]<a%20href="http://s841.photobuc...

Re: Asian Hallmark Help Please!

Hi there,

The bottles are quite old, as they are hand cut glass and not machine glass, in my opinion. The handle is completely attached to the holders as well, and it doesn't seem to be makeshift - so if it is a marriage of two pieces it has been done professionally.

Tricky!

Re: Asian Hallmark Help Please!

Hi there, Thank you for your reply David. I have attached another photo. I think it might be sterling as there aren't any signs of wear in the usual places, i.e, base of the feet, inset of the jars, handle etc. [url]http://i841.photobucket.com/albums/zz333/William_Sharpe/William_Sharpe012/101_0995.j...

Asian Hallmark Help Please!

Hi there, I really need some help identifying this piece I recently bought. I can't find any information on the makers mark, and whether or not it is sterling or plated. Can this piece be attributed perhaps to Hung Chong? I hope someone can help. Thanks, Will http://i841.photobucket.com/albums/zz333...
