Maker I.D. please

Hi all, Does anyone recognize the maker's mark on this spoon? I think that I have Hamburg and Friedrich Christoph Greve 1829-1854 (Assay) correct? I just can't decipher the maker. Also, why does it not have a concession mark if FCG worked '29-'54 and concession marks came into use in 1820? Any help ...

Swedish Spoons - Help with maker's mark and assay please

Hello - I have a set of 6 Swedish spoons which I need help with please. The 4 (14cm) on the right are all marked on the front: city mark is a bishop for Lidköping, country mark Sweden, maker's mark iA which could mean JA?, and M4 for 1842. The 2 (13.2 cm) spoons on the left are marked on the back; o...

Swedish Silver Forks - Need help with maker please

Hi - I'm hoping someone can please help me the maker of these two pickle forks. So far I think the city mark is Vaesteras, the year is 1895 and the country is Sweden. Is the 813H the purity and regional assay office ID? The maker's mark has me completely befuddled. Everytime I look at it, it looks l...

Re: Sweden creamer - help with city mark and maker's mark pl

Hi Hose - Thank you so much for your reply. I can see now that is a ship. I have only been able to find reference to Västervik, not Västervig. Are they one in the same? Also, am I correct in assuming that this is 830 silver? Do you know anything about the gold interior? Is it considered 'gilt' or ...

Sweden creamer - help with city mark and maker's mark please

Hi - This may be a long shot because the marks are partially obscured. I'm hoping there is enough for someone to recognize the city mark and maker's mark. The date is D3 (1810) which would compare to my other family pieces of Swedish silver. I can't make out the city mark and it appears the maker's ...

Need help with mark on sterling spoon please

Hi - I can't seem to make out this very busy mark on a silver bon bon/nut spoon. Hopefully someone with a more experienced eye will recognize it. Would love to know the pattern name also. Thanks, Ann

Re: Swedish cocoa/coffee pot - Please help with marks

Thank you so much Hose_dk. I appreciate your help. One thing I forgot to ask.......was there a silver purity standard in Sweden at that time, 800, 900? Thanks again.

Swedish cocoa/coffee pot - Please help with marks

Hello - Hopefully, I'm on the right track with this 6" tall cocoa/coffee pot. It appears to have the Sweden country mark and I think the D3 indicates it was made in 1810? Unfortunately, the city stamp is very hard for me to read. Perhaps a more experienced eye can help with this? Also, I have n...
