Re: FISH SLICE. UNUSUAL MARK?
Hi Steve, Apologies for the delay in reply... your appear to have out me on the right track . I have matched a makers mark to William Green & co who were registered in Sheffield in 1784 and I believe the date letter on the slice is 1788 which would tie in with the dates of the maker ...so appear...

Re: John Nicholson makers mark?
Hi Ben,
Thanks for the reply , I do agree this is most likely an Edinburgh maker, on closer inspection this differs from Nicholson mark and the date letter would place this after or around his death. Hopefully i can put a name to the mark eventually. Thanks again for your replay . Regards James

Elastic band marks
Hi everyone, i was wondering if any one has a method of removing elastic band marks , I've purchased some rather nice Scottish spoons online and sadly arrived grouped with an elastic band, this has left some rather unsightly marks on the handles. Managed to remove the heavy tarnishing but the outlin...

Re: Provincial Spoon? R? Thistle
Hi Trev. Thanks for your reply on both my posts, I'm certain your are correct with the Colin Robertson attributation , the makers punch appears identical. As to this one i guess i will continue the hunt..i do think you are right , the lettering appears to be different, i will look into colonial mark...

Provincial Spoon? R? Thistle
Hi. another spoon that was in a lot of Scottish Provincial spoons, appears to be marked RR or RB. the closest match I've found is Robert Robertson of Cupar, but the style of spoon suggest this is too early for his work. appreciate any suggestions. Thanks https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https:...

TABLE SPOON MAKER/ PROVINCIAL??
HI all , came across 3 table spoons (all identical as the one pictured) they are struck 3 times with a makers mark, unfortunately quite obscured. Was hoping someone with a better eye maybe able to help identify it. My best guess is maybe RC in a similar script style to Hester Bateman's mark, possibl...
