Yes, plastic bags release gases so it's pretty harmful.
Acid free paper and cotton wraps work best.

Help ID this 922 silver wallet?
I am at a loss with this supposedly German sterling silver & crocodile skin wallet.
It is missing the ordinary sickle, crown, and 800 hallmarks.
Any clue as to the maker and the age? Help would be greatly appreciated!

Antique German fox shakers' marks?
I have this pair of antique German silver fox salt & pepper shakers that I'd like help on. I am certain the marks mean German silver, not plate or .925 sterling, however do these marks signify the year? Or a particular origin? This is my first time investigating German silver, if that helps any....

My mother purchased this white gold hallmarked ankleg in Italy nearly 30 years ago, and for the life of me I cannot figure out what the two remaining hallmarks mean, besides that ''750' defines the gold purity.
