Unknown marks on necklace

Hi friends,
I picked up a piece of jewelry and cannot figure out the marks whether it just indicates purity or a maker as well.

Any help is appreciated!

Wedding Basket with Asian Style Marks, Please help :)

Hello, I have what I assume is a wedding basket of sorts with Asian marks. Was hoping somebody would have information on the WSD and what the character marks said? Thank you for any information! klingsheim http://i68.tinypic.com/2irnaqs.jpg http://i67.tinypic.com/2u5qsz5.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/q...

Re: *~*~ NEW POST Candlesticks? Ash Trays? Wine Tasting things? Unknown Marks~~*

hello,

sorry about the size of the photos boss, I have an older computer so tinypics website really is a pain in the butt to navigate.

The size of the objects are about 4 inches (10cm) across by 1.5 inches (4cm) tall.

Hope this helps, has my friends and I stumped!

Re: Are these pseudo hallmarks on medal

Hello, .375 is 9ct gold (I have a ring with the similar hallmarks). As far as maker mark goes, I would venture "William Philip Whiteman" http://www.silvermakersmarks.co.uk/Makers/Birmingham-WL-WR.html#WP even though his mark does not feature the & S. A lot of companies did add their so...

Hello friends, Again I come to you with a need for help to identify these marks. I don't know what these are? So if anyone has thoughts that would be appreciated (I've heard mini candlestick things, ash trays, and or sweet meat/wine tasting things). Thanks for the help! - Klingsheim http://i64.tinyp...

Hello friends, I come with questions. I purchased these out of an estate in San Francisco. They acid test for silver. I was wondering if anyone could identify the marks. I know they are a little faded but I did my best to capture them. Thanks so much! - Klingsheim http://i68.tinypic.com/spug7r.jpg h...

Re: **NEW Chinese? Export? Silver box with Dragon Dancer relief on it**

Thank you all for the information! You input and knowledge is very appreciated.
I really like the form of the box, silver or not (I think it is because of testing).

Warm Regards,

*NEW* Chinese/Japanese Silver? boxed set of cordials - Cant read mark

Hello All, I find myself again at the forums mercy for a foreign marked find. This is a beautiful set (tests for silver) of Cordial Glasses, mint condition in a presentation box, each cup is etched with different types of flowers, and features a gold wash on the inside. There is no marking on the box...

Re: **NEW Chinese? Export? Silver box with Dragon Dancer relief on it**

Hello,
Are you referencing the worth-point article stating that his other work (the elephant) is from Cambodia? Or is the specific mark T99 a Cambodian standard mark? I can't find anything else in reference to him.

Thanks for bouncing ideas around.

Re: Help with maker and pattern

Please post a photo of the "sterling" mark as well as the potential maker mark to help us identify. Makers marks make looking up patterns infinitely easier, even if you don't know what they are :)

**NEW Chinese? Export? Silver box with Dragon Dancer relief on it**

Hello all! I recently bought this box at an antique show, not recognizing the marks but (hopefully) recognizing it as silver. I think it is Chinese Export silver because of the 99 - and this website http://chinese-export-silver.com/understanding-chinese-export-silver-makers-marks/ - references marks...

Hello all! Thank you so much for all the insight. I will search for a simpler, clear glass to make the piece look more authentic. I appreciate all the help and reassurance this is an "intact" piece and is what I hoped it was. I apologize for the late reply, I never received notifications p...

HELP Identify conflicting marks on a unique stand

So this is what I have assessed. So let's start with the smaller screw piece. It has the Kokoshnik mark that is called a "dvonik" and it was only used from 1882-1899 and it matches with the City Saint Petersburg so I was able to narrow the dating thus far with that piece alone. The larger ...

Re: *NEW TO SITE* Japanese? Pure Silver Vase with Gold Flower need help with maker

Indeed it does. Thanks so much.

Since it is not made by an artist and more of a retailer does that mean that the chrysanthemum is not a crest but just the seal of Japan?

(admin edit - see Posting Requirements )

I appreciate your insight!

*NEW TO SITE* Japanese? Pure Silver Vase with Gold Flower need help with maker

Hello All, I have officially exhausted all outlets to discover the maker mark and age on this. As Japanese is not a language I am at all familiar with I have been attempting to translate many sites and have had no luck. It has a gold chrysanthemum flower (which is the Japanese seal?) on it that I ho...
