Re: Figural martyr spoon
Pseudo marks, in this case fantasy marks often do not make sense, and for most of us reasonable easy to recognize. Fake hallmarks are often not so easy to recognize.
The lengt, 19.05 cm, in proportion to its weight 63 gram or 3,3 gram/cm is an other indication the spoon is not made 17/18th century ...

Ahhh. The H with one squiggly side! So that's what it is - HS psedudo maker.oel wrote: Thu Feb 23, 2023 3:45 pm Hi Aspasa,
G pseudo year letter, HS in monogram (conjoined) pseudo maker's mark, M pseudo year letter. Silver fineness probably 833/000.
Peter.
Why would there be 2 pseudo (G & M) year letters?

Re: Figural martyr spoon
Peter. Thank you.
Are there no other (small) marks, like a little sword mark?
Best I can do is below.
If i hallucinate enough they're there somewhere but just looks like silver forged air bubbles to me :)

Marrow Spoon & Hallmark...
Someone told me this marrow spoon might be 18th Century silver. I doubt it! Looks/feels like 20th Century silverplate to me?

That said, the Hallmark is a bit elusive as also the shape of the spoon - specifically the almost rectangular center. I don't ...

Silverplate Spoon. Maker - H&H?
Hi.
New user, 1st time Poster, pls. be gentle :)
Looking for a little info. on this spoon and it's maker please. Looks like it could be Hukin & Heath - due to the bird stamp - but the ornate characters might not be H's at all?
