Re: Does this appear to be genuine? - Sheffield Sterling 1913 Teapot

Hi again Trev,

Many thanks for the quick response. Had a slight glimmer of hope but wasn't surprised at all at the verdict. The old adage of "If it's too good to be true..." is typically spot on :)

Thanks,
Isaac

Does this appear to be genuine? - Sheffield Sterling 1913 Teapot

Hi,

Just purchased this teapot and while it's a bit crude in some factors of construction, it's made in the fashion similar to other teapots of the era at the least, and does bear what appears to be Sheffield Sterling hallmarks. To the best of our ability have identified the marks as Sheffield ...

Hi Trev,

Thank you again!

We never would have guessed that. Makes sense it was a more budget friendly gift with the inscription.

Help identifying this Welsh cigarette case hallmark

Hi,

We have a cigarette case that seems it came from Wales by the inscription, but the Hallmarks are so small and plain we don't have much to go on. Each side of the case is marked and appears to be "CGEC" but the G especially could be something else. The inscription places it in Abercynon Wales ...

Re: Help identifying this English? fish knife and Welsh cigarette case

Hi Trev,

Thank you very much - we could not imagine manually checking every documented hallmark to try and match these up. Any other thoughts on age or origin?

Help identifying this English? fish knife and Welsh cigarette case

Hi,

I've checked the guides and can't determine most of these marks at all. On the fish knife, I can't say if it's British or what origin. For the Hallmarks, the first could be absolutely anything, the 2nd is a cross, 3rd looks like a "6", 4th looks like a halberd and the last appears to have been ...
