Re: French Silver Set Marks Unknown
Your piece is Belgian, not French. It is clearly marked with 2nd standard silver mark used 1831-1868 for 800/1000 silver. Hope this helps

Re: Unknown Maker & Assayer
Thank you both for your thoughts. This is exactly what I wanted to know - if there are any experts of Russian silver that can recognize the style and confirm the maker since I'm really not an expert of Russian silver By the way, I found this information regarding assayer on this website, so I think ...

Re: Unknown Maker & Assayer
Thank you Goldstein for your response. I thought also that maker is Nikolaj Kemper but I really have some doubts if the maker is identified correctly. At first, it looks like A. Romanov was an assayer in Riga and Warsaw but not in St. Petersburg. But more important that Nikolaj Kemper's mark has no ...

Unknown Maker & Assayer
Here is a lovely Russian silver creamer. It is marked with the 1st Kokoshnik mark on the spout and the bottom. Assayer is either Anton Vasilijevitch Richter (Astrakhan 1899-1916) or Aleksandr Vasilyevitch Romanov (Riga 1899 & Warsaw 1899-1904). I believe the maker's initials are "NK" i...

Need help to identify 18th-19th c. German or Prussian silversmith
There is a pair of 13 loth silver candlesticks. Apart the silver mark '13' and maker's mark, there is zigzag line (mark) scratched by an assayer to test the content for silver purity. The silversmith's initials looks like AW. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance https://preview.ibb.co/fU...

Unidentified German silver maker
There is a large German silver presentation bowl (it's barely visible in the picture - the second mark is crown). According to the marks it was made sometime after 1886. It also bears Austria import mark (used 1901-1921) and maker's mark A.P. I would appreciate if somebody could help me to identify ...

So far, I was able to find online references to 19 silversmiths with the initials 'GS' that potentially any of them can be th...
