Secessionist Style German Lidded Cup - Unknown Maker
I'm posting this separately here to see if anyone has ideas about the maker of this piece. I've checked all the reference materials I know, but no luck to date. Any comments or thoughts would be most welcome. Thanks, Jeff http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6078/6084330046_ea178378f2.jpg http://farm7.sta...

Re: Unidentified German Makers' Marks
Whoops! Sorry. Here are the photos from my flickr account. I apologize for the earlier posting problem. Any thoughts about the maker for this piece? I've checked all the references on this website and a few books I have at home, but no luck. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6191/6083785931_17111abd13....

Re: Unidentified German Makers' Marks
What happened to my photo and query about the circle H or HD marked German silver piece? Is it a known maker and I just placed my query in the wrong location?
Thanks,
Jef
Thanks,

Re: Early 20th Century Austrian Secessionist Silver Piece
Thanks for the information. I have no knowledge of silver production methods and my comment about hand-hammered was reserved only for the interior, which certainly was worked by some human method. I see no harm in looking for a designer, and whether or not it meets the critics eye. I'll keep the thr...

Re: Early 20th Century Austrian Secessionist Silver Piece
Wonderful information. I'm still trying to see if I can attribute the piece to a particular designer of the period. It's my understanding that Eduard Friedmann executed design plans by such well-known Secessionist artists as Otto Prutscher and Rudolf Karger. When I saw the piece I knew that it was w...

Re: Early 20th Century Austrian Secessionist Silver Piece
Solved! Thank you so much for the rapid reply and wonderful information. While I have the thread attention, could anyone suggest a book or reprint catalog for Eduard Friedman's works so I can track down a possible designer for this piece?

Early 20th Century Austrian Secessionist Silver Piece
Hello, I'm trying to ascertain what the secondary mark on this Austrian silver dish refers to. The Diana head mark solidly places production in Austria-Hungary between 1872-1922, but the secondary pitcher mark has been a bit of a mystery. Any information, tip or pointers would be most appreciated. T...

1890 Gorham Vanity Set - Pattern or Set Name ??
My wife and I just purchased an antique Gorham vanity set as a gift for our daughter, in part because the initials on the piece match hers and because we thought the motif was charming and appropriate for a 12-year-old girl. Using the Gorham date mark guide here, I was able to determine that the van...
