The spoon will definitely be displayed and treasured - hopefully for many more generations!. I have a few smaller spoons that have his wife's (my 3rd great grandmother's) initials engraved on them. She also died around 1853 and her spoons have JL Smith as the maker. I will have to post pictures tomo...

C Wilcox Hallmark - dating a spoon
Hello All, This is my first post here, so I hope I am posting correctly. I have a spoon that I believe is from my 3rd great grandfather who lived from 1801 to 1853 in Cheshire, CT (which is right next to Meriden, CT). The spoon is engraved with his initials, but I don't see this particular hallmark ...
