The mark left to the crown mark looks like the LK mark of Louis Kuppenheim from Pforzheim, who made boxes like this and the purity 935 points to the thirties.

Have you searched for e.g. Louis Kuppenheim enamelled pieces ?

Thank you for the suggestion. I looked him up, and his work looks very interesting/nice; still a little spendy, though. Just out of curiosity, is silver enameling in vogue right now ...

Re: Can anyone identify these hallmarks please
Hi,
That was an easy one; the maker is famous Louis Kuppenheim,Pforzheim, Germany.
This LK mark was used 1924-1930 (it is Art Deco case, the marks fit the period).
See here for the history of the silversmith (some pictures are missing, though).

Re: Whiff box import from Germany
Is it because Louis Kuppenheim started operations in 1899, so you would have to exclude dates before 1899? ::::

Re: Unknown Hallmarks WWII Cig Case
Thank you!
It is Louis Kuppenheim Germany!! Dates between 1912 to 1924 so fits in with WWI and I also found a mention of the Lieutenant in a local article on WWI out of Kansas. Charles H Gunn who was in charge of 356th in Germany.
So I assume he acquired it while in Germany and had it engraved :)

Re: IS IT GERMAN SILVER?
Looks like the mark of Louis Kuppenheim, the form looks like Louis Kuppenheim, there usually is a script "L R" hallmark but let me see why that hallmark might have been omitted, I am trying to find out the third hallmark as well (kind of a shield) ::
