Re: Irish oyster fork? Maker? Royal?
I cannot read the lettering on the badge but it has the feel of being a regimental crest. If so it is military silver from the officers' mess. I suspect that the maker's / sponsor's mark is that of Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co: https://www.silvermakersmarks.co.uk/Makers/Shared/WGJL-GibsonAndLang...

Re: Glasgow Torah Yad
Scottish gold & silversmith records are held by the Incorporation of Goldsmiths of the City of Edinburgh and there is an online resource allowing us to access Edinburgh, Glasgow and provincial sponsors' marks. Although this lists a number of JK marks, none of them span the right time frame.

Your original picture has disappeared so I can't confirm the date. 1890 would be P in a shield.

Re: Who is the maker?
The maker's mark is very worn but I'm pretty sure it was originally CS over H for Charles Stuart Harris:

Re: help determine the year of the spoon
It's 1766. Note the shape of the surround around the harp. You should also be aware that the illustrations in my date tables are representative rather than 100% accurate. Your post will also allow me to extend the dates for Christopher Skinner.

Yes, it's a London hallmark with the date letter t for 1974. There are no published references for makers' / sponsors' marks so you may not find out who SAB or C+I are.

Apparently it was an acid test. Electroplate is looking very likely.

Thanks, Qrt.S and Trev. Electroplate was my immediate thought when seeing the marks for the first time. I will try to get an update on the testing method.

Tongs Identification
A correspondent has asked if I can help identify the markings on a pair of tongs. I have started them in the European Silver section as my correspondent assures me that they have been tested as being solid silver. Re: Silver plate identification help.
That's an Elkington mark (EM&Co is Elkington, Mason & Co) with their private date code (6 in a lozenge, or perhaps a lazy 6 in a square) for 1846. They are asparagus tongs (I think).

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Yes, the hallmark is London, 1927, and the very worn mark below would have identified the maker (or sponsor).

WY is William Yates. Only the band (or ferrule) is silver. The rest is probably electroplated.

Hi Pufarin and welcome to the forum. Thanks for identifying this sponsor's mark and for the link, although it is not that of the Birmingham Assay Office.

Re: Small silver box from London
The H could be at the beginning or end of the mark. It is not unknown for a maker's mark and the hallmark to be in different orientations but I think it is more likely that the H is the last letter. However I cannot quickly find a "--H" or even a "H--" mark with that shape (strai...

Re: Help with Identification of Marks
Hi and welcome to the forum. The only significant mark is the monogram mark with the crown over it. This is the maker's / sponsor's mark of Charles Johnston Hill (the monogram comprises the letters CJH combined together). 819 is probably a pattern number and the L may be a journeyman's mark (the pri...

Re: Pepperette with replacement top. Maker of the top?
I would suggest this mark: https://www.silvermakersmarks.co.uk/Makers/Sheffield/TE+CoLtd.jpg which I have attributed as probably Thomas Ellin & Co Ltd. That mark appears to be overstamped on another mark which seems to have the shape of a flattened shield rather like the M&W mark on the base...
