Re: Silver from Pest Marker and Design

After the object was finished, it was decorated by hand and with a hammer. the hammering is clearly visible. It is not so rare in the Hungarian art deco.

On the other hands, the smaller workshops still did many things by hand.

Re: Silver from Pest Marker and Design

Dear Silverligther! The guild system was abolished in Hungary in 1867, and industrial boards took their place. Your maker was Jedlicska Rudolf. In 1929 his workshop was in the VIII. district, Kistemplom utca (street) 7. His industrial license was terminated in 1935. As I found at the contemporary ne...

Silver cup

Hello All! I bought this silver cup. I would like to identify the maker if it is possible. I checked the zolotnik mark, and find AA, so I think, the assay master was Anatoli Apollonovich Artsybashev. If it is true, the cup made in Vilno. But Who could be the maker? https://i.postimg.cc/YjtZqcnZ/IMG-...

I'm not sure but the mark reminds me Storck & Sinsheimer in Hanau.

Re: Help with finding master's name

Hello! You are totally misunderstanding the makers mark. It is upside down, MÖM (Magyar Ötvös Műhely). If you had typed it into the search engine, you would have found it, because we discussed this earlier. https://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=57474&p=186689&hilit=%C3%B6tv...

Re: Huge platter. Austria. Makers mark LG?

Well, as I guessed, not Austria, but a different country, Hungary, Budapest, Dévai Testvérek (Dévai Brothers) bitween 1923-1937.
It has been operating as an open joint-stock company since 1923.
Best regards!

Re: Huge platter. Austria. Makers mark LG?

It may come as a surprise to many, but Hungary used the above hallmark longer than the Austro-Hungarian Empire. For nearly 20 years after the end of the empire, Austria used a completely different hallmark. On the other hand, I'm not sure the LG monogram either. Would it be possible to see a sharp p...

Re: Huge platter. Austria. Makers mark LG?

Are you sure it is Austria?
It seems to me it is a P in the Diana head hallmark.
Best regards!
