Re: German? dish

It is unusual that the bowl does not have two handles. Are there any traces that these handles once existed?

Often these bowls were also gilded. Are there traces of gilding?

Re: 12 Loth German spoons

It is good that you turn to this forum with your question, because your assumptions are far from reality. First of all, I would be interested to know if you think the five spoons are from Frankfurt. There are about 2000 cities in Germany, more than 100 of which had an eagle in the city coat of arms....

Re: Silver gilt box - swords & 12 mark. German?

I am not sure, but I think it is from Thuringia.
There was a maker Johann Gottlob Pundselius (Bonselius) in Schleiz.
He was lerning in Leipzig 1787-93 (master Barthel)
oo (I) 11.Nov. 1798 Henriette Louise Wilhelmine Groschuft.
oo(II) 1800 Friedeike Sophie Fischer.

Later he was going to Wien.

Re: Here's a tough one for the forum

this is an intesting question.
I know this mark from an other objekt.
Makersmark is CWE.

the mark in the middle looks similar to marks from Zürich.

I think it is probably south-west-Germany or swiss.

Theoderich---Thank you so much for your help. I watched Tilsit, but there is an asterisk under the number 12, and this confused me. http://images.vfl.ru/ii/1643909959/c7c8ab94/37859357_m.png Now, the 12 Lot-Mark in Tilsit is soy the same like this on your spoon, but it could be that both stamps are...

Re: attribution

It is not easy to determine this brand and I cannot give a sure answer. There were several goldsmiths named Hirsch. As for the 12, I saw a similar looking brand in Tilsit. In Tilsit around 1900 a jewelry store is called J.Hirsch. If it was East Prussia, then there was a gold worker in Isterburg arou...

Re: Help with origin of nice milk jug

Hi Theoderich ! Thank you for your opinion! One more question: for what reasons are there no fineness and city marks? Regards. Germany was not a state in this time, but there were many states with many different rules. In this region (Elmshorn, Kiel ...) you find a fineness very seldom in this time.
