Hi, Not JCM but JGM for Johan Georg Meijer Sr., Amsterdam, 1828/1860. So he could be the maker together with Bennewitz. Perhaps you could check for a valid Dutch date letter? The date is 1823. WC for this date on tongs is usually attributed to William Chawner II, though there are so many WC makers that I never feel certain about it.
