Re: Enameled box mark,Russia or Armenian?

Kyrgyztan, used a 3rd silver standard of 916. The box has no hallmark, I assume the mark to be a maker's mark.

Re: Unknown Belgium mark

It seems to me to be the maker's mark of Louis Frédéric Guillaume Wolfers, a W above a boar's head . He was born in Minden, Germany, as the son of Philippe Wolff on December 31, 1820, and brother of Philippe Wolff, later married to Henriette Ruthenburg, he died in St.-Josse. Active in Brussels 1852-...

Re: 18th Century Unicorn Snuffbox?

Considering the style and the location of the marks, and the absence of more hallmarks, definitively not Dutch (guild) silver. I suspect it might be German, early Hanau or Austria Hungary. Best to say continental (early) 19th century, unknown maker's mark. Herewith a British same theme Orpheus playi...

No, correct, I forgot to add that Bastiaan Meijer continued to work in Middelburg as a silversmith until 1900.

Re: Silver tobacco box, maker?

The maker's mark could read BM above 90 in square for; Bastiaan Meijer, started in Schoonhoven on 16-2-1850. On 17-9-1860 he stopped working in Schoonhoven on moved to the city of Middelburg where he continued as silversmith, using same maker's marks. Known maker of engraved snuff boxes. Peter. Sour...

Re: Silver bag bracket Dutch, Maker?

Your silver bag bracket. The year letter G is for 1916, you should expect to find an office mark/Minerva head, with the regional assay office letter C voor The Hague. Like you write at your own selling website; I think I recognize WE. This could stand for W. Edeling from Schoonhoven, active from 189...

Re: Unknown mark on Belgium silver

Hi, https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/800x600q70/922/abVP1c.jpg I guess, the candelabra weight of silver 830/000 without the weight at the base ( base filled), is 262 gram. In the book by B.W. G Wttewaal entitled"Nederlands Klein Zilver 1650-1880"(1987) at page 262, afb. 11, it shows a not very clear black and white photo of a spoon from Enkhuizen with a partially wavy stem, year letter N for 1675/76, with the provincial standard mark of Holland, the lion ram...
