17th/18th century Dutch Silver Agate Small Fork

17th/18th century Dutch Silver Agate Small Fork The piece is not marked but from what I can tell it is Dutch in origin and can date anywhere from the late 17th to the late 18th century. The tines are steel, the ferrule and cap are silver and the handle pinkish agate. https://i.postimg.cc/G96PG58f/IM...

Mid 17th century Scandinavian Cherub Top Spoon

Mid 17th century Scandinavian Cherub Top Spoon I believe the spoon is either Swedish or Norwegian but this style could come from any Baltic country. There are three hallmarks that look to be the same mark just stamped 3 times but they unidentified. I believe it is mid 17th century but it could be ea...

Mid 19th Century Dresden Silver & Porcelain Figural Fork

Mid 19th Century Dresden Silver & Porcelain Figural Fork It is about 8" long and not marked but in several of my sources they have pieces with similar lion decorations and they have Dresden city marks. The handles have hand-painted military camp scenes on them. https://i.postimg.cc/ppQXWmDd...

London 1837 William IV Sterling & Ox Blood Coral Handle Fork

London 1837 William IV Sterling & Ox Blood Coral Handle Fork I don't remember who the maker is at the moment but when I get home I will try to update that. It is dated for 1837/38 with the William the IV duty mark so it is just barely Georgian. I am not sure what the fork is for either, it is ab...

I think I will take you up on your offer. It's not really substantial but it feels large to me. I am going to try to post items I haven't posted before but forgive me if I forget

Re: German? Dognose Rattail spoon

Don't worry, I am more than confident that the spoon is genuine. In-person you can see the evidence of its hand construction and inside the bowl you can see evidence of the stamping of the marks coming through. They only appear cast because of the poor quality of my pictures and from years of wear s...

German? Dognose Rattail spoon

Not sure but I believe this piece is German or from somewhere in the southern Baltics. Any help is appreciated. The mark appears to be crossed lions rampant. The maker's mark is 3 letters, Only the letter C is clear, I think the next letter is an L but the bottom letter is blurry. https://i.postimg....

Re: A mystery "frame", mark Kayser

I think you're overthinking this. Picture frames today come with just a stand and no hook as well while some come with a hook and some with both. But most likely if the back is designed to easily slide out than it would be a picture frame as this would be inconvenient with a mirror

Re: 17th C. Caudle Cup

Hi, thanks for sharing but despite your best effort to show pictures, it just looks like a faded blur on our end. I know with these really worn marks it is possible to see things in person that just don't photograph well. It is definitely an old old awesome cup though.

Re: Help ID Maker of Sterling Marked Basket

The later Hanau fakes and 'copies' are always poor castings and sloppy looking, the details in this appear quite sharp. I've seen older pieces that were later marked STERLING probably by a dealer well after the fact in order to make it more saleable to less knowledgable buyers.
