Re: Unknown 18th century makers mark
I'm uploading more photos, maybe you will have some other thoughts. BTW it is not a donkey, it is probably a wolf or a fox. Thank you all again for this discussion. https://i.ibb.co/PwKP8zw/photo-2021-11-24-17-40-35.jpg https://i.ibb.co/nfxt2BV/photo-2021-11-24-17-40-37.jpg https://i.ibb.co/x8vNvY9/...

Re: Unknown 18th century makers mark
Please believe what AG102 tells you. He is absolutely right. This is a very very suspicious object. Grigorjev Kuzma was an assayer (an official) in Moscow 1838-49. He didn't "make" anything. As an official he only guaranteed the legal silver fineness of an object. He is not know to have m...

Re: Unknown 18th century makers mark
This could be a maker, why do you think its alderman? The year is 1745, Moscow, Probing master is CG (Grigoriev Kuzma) - he worked from 1741 - 1752.AG2012 wrote:Alderman`s mark is wrong (non existing assay master in 1745).What makes you think it is not authentic?

BTW, There were also heart-shaped marks of the maker, not only alderman's.AG2012 wrote:Hi,
Heart shaped mark is not a maker but non existing alderman`s mark.
I doubt the beaker is authentic.

Re: Icon maker mark ФФ
Postnikova-Loseva, and then Ivanov (repeats) indicate only one master in Petersburg at that time with the initials Ф.Ф. Friedrich Faber, born in 1802. In 1845 he would have been 43. Normal age. Only one objection. The surname is not suitable for making vestments of Orthodox icons. But, everything h...

Re: Unknown city and maker
Yes, it does look like Iranian 84 silver mark, but there is a big question? The maker Initials are written in Cyrillic КУ. Even if КУ is fake, what was the point of placing it there? It does not add value.

Re: Unknows maker CC with three stars.
Wow - the mark looks quite blurry on my monitor. Nonetheless, this appears to be the Christofle mark for 950 standard silver used between 1935 and 1972: O.C. with a bee between the initials and 3 stars above in a lozenge-shaped reserve. To narrow the date of production you’d have to consult old Chr...
