Re: Please help me to read the mark on my strainer.
The guardein i.e assayer is either Jens Kahrs or his son Ditmer/Ditmar Kahrs, more likely the latter. He assayed in Bergen gullsmedaslaug in NORWAY together with his father Jens 1765-1781. After his father's death 1781 Ditmer change his guardein mark to just DK as from 1781-1788. He dies 21.5.1788....

Is that what I think or am I wrong? http://images.vfl.ru/ii/1533664288/eb6af891/22802120_m.png Hello, ALEKS! Thank you for your reply. You confirmed my suppositions about this spoon. I found the following information in the catalog of Finnish marks: "GRB" - maker’s mark Gottlfried Rudolf ...

Help me please to read the hallmark (digit 84, crowned letter W and GRE)
I have an apparently old spoon for spices (length 13.3 cm) with interesting marks: the digit 84, crowned letter W and probably the maker’s mark GRE. Help me please to identify this item. Thank you in advance for your help. http://silverroom.ru/photos/2/191272/1_t.jpg http://silverroom.ru/photos/2/19...

Help me please to read the hallmark (crowned lion and the date letter Q)
I have ancient spoon and I would like to know detailed information about it. Looking at the mark with the crowned lion and the date letter Q, I can suppose that this item is from England, but I doubt it. Thank you in advance for your help. http://silverroom.ru/photos/2/195161/1_t.jpg http://silverro...

Help me identify the sugar bowl.
Hello, dear Sirs! Help me please to identify one old sugar bowl with the following marks: the six-pointed star, unclear pictogram and crown (perhaps, is this Germany, Hanau ???) and a sword like as the Dutch mark for small items. Thank you. Regards, Elena. http://silverroom.ru/photos/138179/001_t.jp...

Re: Help me to identify the tea strainer.
Hello, Peter! One more question. Do you know, what is depicted on this French hallmark?
Unfortunately, the picture is so small, that I cannot see anything.
Elena.

Re: What is this bowl intended for?
Hello, Peter!
Thank you for your help. Indeed, the marks on my bowl are very strange to identify as English. Apparently, it is really China, because clearly an oriental monogram there is on the vase.
Yours faithfully, Elena.

Re: What is this bowl intended for?
Hi, Martin!
Thank you very much for your answer! I've never seen anything like it.
There is a very expressive mark shaped like a lion’s head on this item... Maybe, it is English ember bowl?
