I found this fruit knife that has only one hallmark.
Obviously it can not be Russian. Where is it from?
Thanks

CLI:CHRETIEN
Yesterday I found two old forks, very spoiled, nothing special, but I was intrigued by the words, punched, not engraved CLI.CHRETIEN https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg I think it's not the owner's name, but I can not imagine what it is. Yes, looking better, I agree that it is not a cartagloria, which must have the two lateral feet more protruding of the central part.

Re: Help with the marks on this ornate mirror please
As I told you I can not say anything about the hallamarks.
I do not know if it depends on the photo, but the marks look blunt, and this seems a bit 'suspicious.....

Re: Help with the marks on this ornate mirror please
I think the object is a "cartagloria" (an altar card) turned into a mirror.
If you google cartagloria you will find many similar ones.
Sadly, I can not help you on the hallmarks.

A cake stand
I found this cake stand that has typically South-East Asian decorations.
But the thing I am surprised is that the hallmarks look Chinese.
Someone can shed light on this matter?
Thanks

I saw something like that to keep the drinks cool. You put it in the freezer and when the liquid inside is frozen, then you put it in your cocktail.

Re: Please help identify silver hallmark, maker's mark on Venetian gondola
I would abandon the idea of Italy, because of the 930, and also because that boat does not look like a gondola and the person does not look like a gondolier.

Just a note
although the St. Marco's lion has been used and misused in Veneto, it is not exclusive to that region.

Re: Please help identify silver hallmark on Silver bowl
Hi italian silver My husband answered that the silver/gold content is mandatory, the identification mark is not mandatory and is like a trademark only, not connected to the license to make/sell silver/gold. according to the law this is not true The fact that your father in law was registered as &quo...

Re: Please help identify silver hallmark on Silver bowl
Let's go slowly, law is law, and the Law 305 of 5 February 1934 prescribes Any item containing platinum, gold and silver may not be sold to the public if it does not bear, applied in an immovable (fixed) part, a visible punch of the manufacturer's mark delivered to him by the office of assay, and fo...

Re: One more question
mmmmmhhh..., I have some doubt. There was actually a Milanese shop dedicated to Saint Ambrose, but the image from the Sambonet is completely different and the initials do not match. There would also be a Bolognese shop dedicated to S.Petronio, of which very little is known, but usually the Bolognese...

Re: A XVIII century looking tray
I agree that it is most probably a piece of the early 900 and hence not strictly a fake one.
But when an antique dealer, for example at the "Mercante in fiera" at Parma's fair, claims that it is a genuine Venetian piece of the 18th century ......

Hello italiansilver, a warm welcome to this forum. Mark in the coffee pot is absolutely clear but it does not look like any of the sketch of the marks "moleca" known that I showed above. I have more than one hundred photographs of “molecas”, of which I attach some below, but none looks lik...

Re: Italy 17mi milano marks
The name of the silversmith that corresponds to Milan 17 is not unknown. According to the implementing regulation of the Law 305 of February 1934 on precious metals Announcement will be made on the official journal of the reign of canceled or missing marks. In the journal of October 4, 1938, we read...
