Re: ЕП and "I. KOPF." mark on a spoon
This discussion is interesting indeed but a bit too wide. What are we talking about, Ringo’s spoon, I. Kopf’s working period, the mark or what? Let’s go back to some basic facts and start with the master’s mark ЕП . It is said that this would be the initial on Jegor Pankratjev in St Petersburg. Howe...

Re: Russian cup
As Zolotnik mentioned a tea glass holder with the glass missing. It is called podstakannik in Russian. The text is ЗДОРОВИЕ (ZDOROVIE) meaning simply "HEALTH". Look for more marks, should be on the body, (bottom) and on the handle. Could be difficult to find a fitting glass. Here f...

Re: Help with markings please
Some minor comments and amendments: 1. Zolotnik's addition is correct 2. Zolotnik made an input while I was writing but the explanation is the same. Score Zolotnik versus Qrt.S 1-0 3.Sorry my good man but the difference is not quite that simple. I'm collecting strainers and sifters and have about 50...

Re: Help with markings please
Dear Mario, what you wrote in your last input reveals to me that your skills in the Russian language are rather limited. The assayer is Ivan Sergejevitsh Lebedkin. What is said in #3878 is about this: " Mark of the Moscow district regional assay office with the initials of Ivan Sergejevitsh Leb...

Re: Help with markings please
On the nail Mario, on the nail. Such things were considered by the Soviets as capitalistic junk and could be sold and it was but as I said, today deeply regretted.

Re: Help with markings please
Don't wonder there is an explanation. You see the strainer was made in Imperial Russia that ceased to exist in 1917. In 1922 the Soviet Union was "born". The new country ruled by the communist was in a deep need of of foreign currency, which was needed to buy food from abroad to the starvi...

Re: Help with markings please
No problem, you cannot know it all :-))) Firstly, it was only an explanation to the mark to the right. It has nothing to do with Russia. It is Latvia's import mark showing that some time between 1927-1940 the strainer was exported from the Soviet Union and imported to the first republic of Latvia. I...

Re: Difficult markings on spoon
Put some stress on "probably genuine", the marks are a smudge, particularly the town mark last to the right.

Re: Help with markings please
Compared with some other photos seen here yours are good, no problem. Nonetheless, sometimes it is difficult to separate tea strainers from sugar sifters. I would say that this is a tea strainer. The holes in a sugar sifter are usually saw not drilled like in this one. The Strainer is made in Moscow...

Re: Is this Ladle real Russian 84 Silver
You have found the real thing, congratulations. Your typical Russian ladle is made in Moscow 1899-1917 by Nikolai Ivanovitsh Pavlov 1885-1917 (ÐП i.e. Latin NP). It is in silver in the fineness of 875/1000. A good bargain anticipating that you didn't pay too much.

Re: Authentic Faberge? Local Estate Item
Looking at the pictures gives me good reasons to believe that this is more than a dubious item...This is my personal opinion only. Please do not ask me what the reasons might be. I'm not eager to discuss fakes on theses sites.

Re: Help identify a Hallmark
Your candlesticks are not made in Ukraine but imported via Kiev in Ukraine from who knows where if there are no other marks. One possibility Ñould be Germany. Look for other marks. You see the mark you show is a Russian import mark used 1882-1899. The letters ПТ is an abbreviation for ПРИВОÐ...

Re: Need help to ID the maker's mark?
I really don't know, never stumbled into this master before. However, there are a few things made by him in the state historical museum in Moscow, that's all I know. The round mark with the kokshnik facing left is a part of the Russian assaying system i.e. every detachable part must carry a mark. No...

Re: Need help to ID the maker's mark?
It would be interesting in seeing the whole object, thank you. Anyway, the assayer AB is Aleksandr Kasimirovitch Vyrzhikovskij who assayed in Kiev 1893-1904. Your object is from between 1899-1904 and made by a by name unknown master ЯС (YaS) who worked there 1899-1908. It is in silver in fineness ...

Re: some Faberge (?)
Quite positive but with Russia nobody can be 100% sure of anything 98% will do. However, it is a commonly known fact and stated in different books that St Petersburg marked FABERGE without a K. There might be exceptions. For the moment it is impossible for me to dig out the source. I'll revert to it...

I was not referring to your marks dear Zolotnik but to the original picture in the first input.
