Re: Old Princeton University - Sterling Marker?
Thank you for the information. Based on the thread, yes, I do think we now have the maker. The Kinney company is the next research subject for me. Maybe I can find which types of the mark were used and their respective times. This will help me date the piece. I am so glad you were able to identify t...

Re: Old Princeton University - Sterling Marker?
Okay, I can now say I have scanned every major section of this web page trying to determine who's
hallmark this is.
I have yet to find it. So, now to take a different approach.

Re: Old Princeton University - Sterling Marker?
I tried to find out what I could about Katz & Ogush after reading your reply. What I have read shows them doing work in gold, platinum, and diamonds. I have not found anything yet showing their work in silver or additional hallmarks. So, it will take more research. I will try to update this when...

Re: Old Princeton University - Sterling Marker?
Oel, No, I do not see anything which resembles a Masonic eye symbol. This being said, I did purchase a nice loupe today and will be taking a closer look at the actual Princeton emblem. I will try to get a larger scan of it to make it easier to view. Right now, I am trying to determine the maker of t...

Old Princeton University - Sterling Marker?
Hello All, I ran across the following item with the Princeton University seal on the front. It looks very old, and I have tried to find the mark myself going through the American Hallmarks section. If you can help me determine the maker of this Sterling, I am hoping it can help me date this piece. A...

Re: International Silver Boxed 84 Emblem
Cheryl, Thank you for your helpful response. I do appreciate the information. I was not aware as to the commonality of the mark and how it was used. I am a newbie and still learning. Upon further detailed inspection, the creameries were indeed heavily plated. I did find one spot which clearly showed...

Re: International Silver Boxed 84 Emblem
I would provide pictures, but the pieces are not currently in my possession. I know that the 84 marking is often for 84 grams of silverplate for a certain number of pieces. I think it is common on spoons and the like. I just wanted to know the likelihood of it designating 84 percent content on three...

International Silver Boxed 84 Emblem
I ran across some nice pieces today made by International Silver.
They were not marked Sterling, but there was a square with the number 84 inside.
I am assuming this meant 84 silver plate. If it does not, I am going to kick myself.

I apologize for the second picture not loading correctly. It is all there, but I guess the formatting of this forum will not allow it all to show. Here is a smaller version.

2 People and 1 Crown Hallmark - Recife, Brazil
Hello, I do believe the inscription means the spoon was likely received on the date shown in Recife, Brazil. What I cannot determine is the silver hallmark on the back. I think the first two are of people standing with the third being a possible crown. http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd447/kescc...

Re: Carr? Hallmark - Delft Spoon
Thank you for the information. I learned something new from this.
I would have thought it to mean 90% pure silver.

Carr? Hallmark - Delft Spoon
I am trying to determine the hallmark on this silver spoon. I think it is Dutch seeing how it has the word Delft on the front of it. Yet, after searching multiple sites, I cannot determine the hallmark. http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd447/kescco/delft.jpg http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd...
