Thanks Trev, Yes they are definitely silver and I am half way trough changing them into a bangle. I always send off my hallmarked silver bangles to the London assay office to gain a certificate to allow me to change their use but as the marks are fake What would the London assay office do with the t...

Hi I have a fine set of six dining forks made by George Whiting Assayed in London in 1860. I know his sponsor mark was registered in 1858 but cannot find any more information on him does any one know his history please?

Really interesting stuff and as the Town I bought the spoons in: -Umag (Croatia) is very close to the Italian border this makes perfect sense.
