IG marked teaspoon?
It’s another IG mark but doesn’t seem to be James Gordon of Aberdeen......any ideas? Not convinced the spoon is even Scottish as it has a pointed heel and the way the mark is so close to the finial. Just feels a bit colonial maybe to me. https://i.postimg.cc/jSB8R3wq/1-A2-D4-EB6-AB98-4355-AE7-F-2-D6...

N.C marked twice
I have 2 teaspoons with N.C struck twice. Is this Nathaniel Coleman? It doesn’t seem to match his punch shape? https://i.postimg.cc/xdYm8tkd/02-B3-B217-5493-4960-B7-C5-3-F4-E15-CB6-C96.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/W4nkkgrw/27-C6-D283-4934-40-D2-BE2-E-91-E974-BF1-F5-C.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/Qx21GXh1/EE...

Re: GF Spoonmaker
Another GF marked item....... A typically Scottish style salt spoon but the silver is unusually soft and bright. I wonder if this made in Tobago? No way of knowing and maybe wishful thinking! https://i.postimg.cc/tgYCMRtG/2-BB7-CBD5-E095-4199-8131-A241-D227-F460.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/pd4XbNqh/702...

Re: Norwegian Spoons
It’s not listed in Per Østby’s book on Norwegian marks but there is an A.F Anthonius Frisch - Oslo 1856-1916. His mark is described as ‘A.Frisch’ though. I have seen Norwegian makers use different variations of initials and name.
Example: E.M.B and E.Bjørthseth

Thanks again Peter, much appreciated.
I must get a good book on Dutch marks, not that often I get pieces though.

Re: JF, thistle, T and ?.......Toddy ladle
Thanks guys, I have studied this more closely with a 40x magnifying glass snd yes there is a shadow of the bottom part of the E so it does read ‘JE’ not ‘JF’.
James Erskine it seems to be but not seen this set of marks before. A rather naughty set of marks designed to deceive it seems!

Hanoverian tablespoon help....
I wonder if anyone can help with identification of this spoon. It’s outside my knowledge of marks. Would love to know maker, date and where it comes from. https://i.postimg.cc/QdJC57Kv/4530-BB22-A437-4664-BB17-3681-AF65386-E.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/8kx7VNVX/75-C54-A64-D4-AA-4-E9-C-8-E99-FA77038-F5-...

Thanks Peter, I’ve cleaned up the mark now but looks even less like a ‘P’ now?

A little spoon, very worn. Maker KB and Amsterdam marks but not sure of date or who the maker is? https://i.postimg.cc/90QQqJvP/1-F640650-2571-476-D-9-E92-F16-BDF5118-C0.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/5yKN58Vh/9292-D718-518-E-420-E-91-E9-F16-DEAE97550.jpg Not even sure the bowl should be that shape? JF, thistle, T and ?.......Toddy ladle
This one has me stumped, it’s not hard given the small library of books I have but still nothing found online either. It’s a toddy ladle with a shell top. Can anybody shed any light on this? https://i.postimg.cc/ncG17DC4/13-B15-CBC-B99-F-4170-9-EE3-9629-A13678-F2.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/sgf4Jght/96...

Unrecorded Exeter mark
Cannot find reference to this mark anywhere. The spoon is superbly made, one of the best I’ve seen for a while from this period. It’s got a wide finial, finely ribbed. The drop is unusual and reminds me of Jersey/French spoons. It’s assayed Exeter 1739 and the maker is I.S https://i.postimg.cc/6Q1nw...

Wow that is a surprise! Thanks Trev. It’s not often I get to find any Maltese silver let alone something that old, really pleased!

Rattail teaspoon, French?
Trying to identify where this teaspoon is from? It has a small fiddle end and a really heavy bowl making it a little odd. It has a makers mark of MA and has other stamped letters plus the owners initial of M on the other side. https://i.postimg.cc/52Mxm7Rs/04-E25-D87-FC5-E-4-A95-BD7-B-76631-E1-D89-D...

Egyptian fork, what assay office?
I recently bought this little silver fork I see that it’s 900 silver and dated 1922 but can anyone tell me the assay office? It’s a small fork of only 14cm long, not sure what it would have been used for? Anyway my first piece of Egyptian silver. https://i.postimg.cc/J0G94b3j/8-AE4-DC2-F-91-BF-454-F...

Re: Russian import mark on English spoon
Many thanks. It would be great to know the history of this spoon as it ended up back in England but we will never know. All it has is the owners initials of RG.

Russian import mark on English spoon
Hi I decided to buy this as it was interesting. Can anyone tell me more about the Russian import marks? I know 88 is 925 silver and the RT is import but not sure what town this was assayed? The ‘CAT’ letters maybe a company? First time I’ve managed to buy a piece of English silver with Russian impor...

Re: Provincial marks?
Recently came across 2 teaspoons with the familiar A.R and Sunburst.
I have an attribution to this maker that I’m currently working on so I really hope to get enough evidence together.
