Re: Antique German Bavarian Salt Cellar Date?

There are no easy “go to’s” on these Hanau mark combinations. However, in the following thread you can find a very good explanation of the familial relationship of two possible “usual suspects” firms. Going deeper via Trev’s link in there is one of the other firms using their mark along with a diffe...

Re: Why are there so many unmarked coin silver pieces ?

I’d sure like to see this graveyard of unmarked American Coin Silver that you believe is out there! Bear in mind that the internet is just a delusional fantasy where a few items dumped into a tight space, sometimes incorrectly labeled, can make it look like the real stuff is falling out of the cupbo...

Possibly a later (post-1935) mark for the American Silver Company noted here: https://www.925-1000.com/americansilver_A.html International Silver took over the work formerly controlled by Bristol Brass and, according to their 1947 history, continued to produce some of the lines of that organization....

Coasters: Lozenge (vertical) “E” ST.925 - Israel?

Wine bottle holder or high coaster. Sterling grade. Very similar to products in the HaZorphim lines. Base is not plain though…punched with design that may act as drip tray for catching condensation off bottles. Mark has been double stamped. Not known to have been connected directly to the other firm...

Link to eight page newsletter related to Jewish history in Greece which holds names of members of the Benrubi Family. Haim Benrubi founded H. Benrubi & Sons and his offspring Samuel apparently started work with his brother-in-law (mentioned within) in the post war mid-century firm of Sam H. Benr...

The pattern is basically a Gordian Knot design (often just called knot). One source seems to be indicating this firm in Firenze is a subsidiary of the German Wellner. However, ASCAS discusses Wellner operations in Firenze and makes no mention of this. This is carrying a symbol of the Italian Royal A...

Re: Unknown Commercial Crest - 1

“S” is more than likely to be the last letter for Shipping or Steamship (or non-English versions), so HA or NA could be the actual company (or the shortened version (like Hamburg-Amerika Lign from the original NASM). And it might only be used on service items rather than the literature or flags. The...

Re: Wallace & Sons #710 Beaded Can Caster

Talcum powder shaker/dispenser fits here. What the patent was filed for is unclear but perhaps the pattern itself as the design of the parts does not seem special..and we don’t know yet if the patent was granted beyond the filing. Circa 1900-10 seems probable given the prior use of the catalog numbe...
