Coin Silver Teaspoons with Leaf Mark

We found six of these lovely teaspoons at an estate auction yesterday in Chester County, PA. They appear to be signed with a leaf maker's mark. They are also stamped J. Clift, whom we assume was the retailer. They are also marked "Pure Coin". Does anyone know this mark? And, perhaps the pa...

No idea whose mark it is, but it is definitely not Fred Davis. He signed with an FD mark and "Silver, Mexico".

Tiffany Sterling Bowl-What Is It?

The piece has a pierced, star-shaped design insert that fits into the inside, bottom of the bowl. We have been told this piece was for storing cut lemons. Do you know if that is correct? If not, do you know what this piece would have been used for? The numbers stamped on the bottom are "95"...

Cheryl, thank you so much for your reply. We had the same thought, that it might not be a fulll line. If I may ask. How do you check for a ptatent with just a date and name as you did with this? The only way I know to check a patent is if I have the number. Thank you again for getting back to me. Si...

Towle Pattern Help-Lovely Old Fork

None of my resource books show this lovely, Towle pattern. It was patented Aug. 6, 1887. Does anyone know this one? Thanks so much! Tom, thank you. We felt quite sure when we found it. We bought it feeling good about the piece. But, you are right about the feeling of insecurity. The more I tried to find a mark like this one and couldn't the more iggly we felt. Your answer has reassured us and we thank you.

Is this a Sigi or Not?

We purchased this lovely, Mexican sterling pin as a Sigi Pineda. Stylistically it is correct. In fact, it is much like one of his pins you have shown on this site. The spread eagle, #36, is right. However, try as we might we cannot find another example of this mark, which is not stamped, but hand et...

Six Coin Silver Spoons-D.C. Dusenberry

I have six of these old, coin silver spoons. They are marked "D.C. Dusenberry". The figural marks are a bird, arm & hammer and head. Can anyone tell me anything about this maker? Thanks! Silvercrown http://img.inkfrog.com/pix/jamielee1/1834.jpg http://img.inkfrog.com/pix/jamielee1/1834...

Japanese (?) Silver Figures-What the heck are they?

We acquired 15 of these little silver figures in a lot at an auction. They are Japanese (?) and low silver. They are hollow. The largest figure is 1 3/4" tall to give you perspective. Does anyone know what these little guys are? http://img.inkfrog.com/pix/jamielee1/Figures.jpg http://img.inkfro...
