Silver overlayed glasses.

Post by paulh »

This is one of a set of six silver drinking vessels. They are 3 inches high, of a thin silver with a glass insert. I know that they are Mexican but that is the extent of my knowledge. Can anyone add any identification please?

Paul.

Hello Paul.

The words on top are Hecho en Mexico which mean made in Mexico.
The letters Df stand for "Distrito Federal", the Federal District of Mexico City.

The other picture shows an Eagle stamp with the number 149 in it.
This style of Eagle mark was used from ca.1955 - 1980.

My book does not identify who used the LHM mark.

Thanks Pat,

I don't come accross much Mexican silver here in England. It is good to be able to get information from nearer the source.

Paul.
