what are these initials.

Post by antiquegirl »

I own this bracelet, I tried and tried to find matching pieces to no avail.
I did however find one identical bracelet made prior to 1948 without the eagle mark or numeric registration number that sold for auction a few years ago. you can pull it up on the web by search pre-columbian stamp bracelet, jlf.
jose luis flores was attributed to have made this bracelet.

Jose Luis Flores worked for spratling, aguilar, emma, salas, miguel.
He was a master designer in Taxco.

My bracelet was either stamped with the eagle mark after it was made or was made after 1948. it does not have the numeric numbers.

I believe the signature is still JLf conjoined. but I think it has a iguala mark.

Could the iguala mark be from the store it was sold in?
Did any mexico silversmiths have stores in taxco and iguala.
It is only 15 minutes from Taxco,
This is my bracelet with marks and eagle 2 and the smaller picture of the other bracelet that was sold at auction 4 years ago is the first pictured on the left, click to enlarge it. flores designed for the best of the masters, I am wondering if it is his and if it is who was he working for at the time.
