Mexican Screwback Earrings Marked MEXICO

Post by onenorthernlight »

Hello,

I have some Silver /Brass /Copper earrings.

Mark is MAY and what could be a sun as the last character.

I looked in the known Mexican marks and did not see this one.

Would it be okay to post since the items are not % Silver?

Maybe a mark you are looking for?

Thanks :-)

Although not marked as silver I believe that the screwbacks are silver.

Here is another image of the marks from the back of anearring.

These thumbnails link to a website page and additional images of the earrings.

Thanks.

(Thanks to whoever updated my original post.)

:-)

I'm back with more information.

After looking at the letters again, I’m now not sure if it is MAY or MAX, sorry.

Also, on loser examination the blob looks like right facing animal or bird. First time it seemed like a parrot, next a turtle.

I think that the maker is MAYA , but I don't know anything about her work.

Yes, it is Maya. Believe they were a hotel gift shop, Casa Maya. I've seen a lot of pieces with the mark, never anything silver, always copper, brass or a mix. They did some decent copies of Hubert Harmon designs.
