Pin with mark TD-HD (or TD-ND) or something like that

Post by bobbybluechip »

Hi,

I have this pin. the mark could, I guess, be TO-HO or some variation.
Any info?

Thanks,

Hi Bobby-

The T probably stands for Taxco, the next letter of O or D is the first initial of the last name and the 40 represents the smith being the 40th registered with that initial. All of this can be better explained here:

Bob, I picked this up in a lot yesterday, it is the exact mirror of your pin, right doen to the drag lines inside the curves from polishing. Made in Tasco, by G-129.

Thought the design looked familiar, they are knock-offs of the Paloma Picasso "scribble" series from Tiffany.

TO-40 is attributed to a retailer, "Alicia".

There are many Mexican maker's producing this pin. It is a copy of Paloma Picasso's squiggle pin.
