MATL: Matilde Eugenia Poulat & Ricardo Salas

Post by bibigiff »

Can anyone help me approximate the age of MATL? I know that MATL Salas is after her death in 1960. But, when did MS-12 come into use? And, when did the change occur between block lettering MATL and cursive MATL? And what about pieces with patent number 10463? What was her Eagle designation? Thanks, everyone.

Matilde Poulat opened her shop in 1934. She apparently used both the script and block letters during the same time period. The MS-12 registry number, which is assigned to Ricardo Salas. would date the piece to no earlier than 1980. The eagle numbers used by Ms. Poulat are 1, 121 and 129.
