european silver maple leaf shaped brooch

Post by confused »

Hi,

I have recently inherited a pretty silver maple leaf shaped brooch, but I cannot decipher the makers mark stamp on the back (possibly French??) Can anyone shed light on who maker is and where it was made please?

Very much appreciated,

Clare.

Hi Clare,

That appears to be a Mexican mark.

Have a look through the five pages of Mexican marks here: http://www.925-1000.com/mexican_marks3.html#M

Hi again, Trev,

And once again, thank you for the very swift response and the much appreciated information. I never would have guessed Mexican! Cheers for the link - I can't see this particular maker on the pages, but can see the style of stamp fits perfectly (and now know which direction to look if I want to try and find the exact maker.)

You're a star. Kind regards,

Clare.

I had a pair of earrings with the same mark! You can see it in the forum here : http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic ... 975#p77116

I searched researched and searched again and never could find anything on the maker. If you have any luck let us know!
