Bold Mexico Sterling Bracelet - Generic Hallmark

Post by natNYC »

I know this is a long shot, since a lot of Mexico hallmarks aren't very detailed/specific.

Perhaps someone can help ID this by the style or workmanship.

It is a bracelet with five beads/frames with a bezel set turquoise in the middle of each.
There is a delicate rope between them.

the mark looks like "made in mexico"

This looks like an early mark and workmanship to me, perhaps prior to 1960s.

Turquoise stones are well set, the craftsmanship is rather good (except for simple and insecure clasp) but it`s suspicious for not having any marks except for ``Made in Mexico``.
More info on Mexican marks is here:

Even without official Mexican mark, which is not used any more, one would expect at least ``Sterling``.
Checking for silver is advised. I have seen Mexican bracelets with clasps marked ``sterling`` but the rest bearing maker`s mark was made of white metal.
