Taxco Eagle #3 Initial Mark Help

Post by dobryden1 »

Hi All,

Bought these off E-bay because I liked them. Now, I am frustrated because I cannot figure out who the maker was. Have ascertained that the 3 in Eagle means Taxco. Initials are surrounded by Sterling 925 Mexico. If you know who this is then let me in on the secret.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi,
Silhouetted Eagle mark ``3`` was used 1955 to early seventies as a generic mark for Taxco, but also for Guadalajara.
The mark was inconsistently used by at least 20 makers, most of them not identified.
Maker`s initials in your image are difficult to decipher.
Nevertheless, at least the approximate period is known (1955 - early 70`).

Thank you so much. I am still trying to get a grasp on the whole mark system in Mexico. I really appreciate your help.
