Mexican wine goblet mark in question

Post by jonnyhart »

Hi. If anyone might know the maker of these goblets, I would be in debt to you. If not, thanks for taking the time to look. John.

Hi, you have the mark upside down, it is for Conquistador of Mexico City.
see; Mexican Marks
The mark at center is the Eagle mark.

Thanks Tom. Now I see it.

You are correct - Image flipped. I looked and looked and because the eagle and horseman were juxtaposed I failed to see it. Your eye works! You know your stuff. Any idea why they may have switched them up? Would this make this an earlier or later piece? Or does this even matter? Thanks.

Have no idea, but the eagle mark should give you a reasonable circa date.
