I had a great Uncle who as a mechanical engineer back in the late 1890's thru around 1925 travelled extensively- I know this has got to be one of the Oriental countries, but don't which or when. any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to turn your picture 90 degrees clockwise to read the texts.

The right one reads 票銀 (Piaoyin).
The left one reads 姚泉興(Yaoquanxing, a maker based in Chengdu, Sichuan).
