Asian silver cigarettes holder

Post by Smokanabeach »

Hi everybody!

Here is an asian cigarettes holder that comes from Indo-China or China (I guess, because of typical fisherman and cow breeder scenes).

I think the hallmark could help. It can be find only in one side and into the cigarette holder.

I let you judge by yourselves throught the pictures bellow:

Thaks for your help!

Any idea?

Looking on different documentations, I will focus my research on Indo-china or Vietnamese silver hallmarks. May be memory gift because of to the symbol writes at the back of the box. Mid 19th?

If someone knows books or websites on silver hallmarks from those area...

Best regards,

chinese-export-silver.com is the most comprehensive Asia silver mark site I have found. It expands beyond just Chinese silver but also to Asian countries where Chinese silversmiths re-located such as Indonesia and Vietnam.
