Gold Plated Ring with Unknown Marking

Good Afternoon All,

Found this ring today in an area that has produced coins from the late 1700's to Mid 1800's. The ring as it is now, appears to be copper or brass but I think at one time was gold plated. The initials appear to be W and R with a symbol in between. I wouldn't think copper or brass would have contained a makers mark but I am surely no expert. Looking for your help. Thank You

I believe I have it figured out thanks to the help of others. WR stands for William Rex of King William IV. The symbol is a crown. Made during his reign of 1830-1837.
