My wife and I have a set of these wine coasters and have wondered about their date, the wood type used, and which parts are silver/plated. From the hallmarks I know that they are made by Elkington & Co in Birmingham but we don't know what the crown or the third mark(date?) means. What's the best way to "treat the wooden(boxwood) inserts? Any information would be appreciated.
