Help identifying the origins

Post by Snowman »

My Nan has been downsizing and I've been given two of her spoons and I was looking to find out more about that. They are hallmarked as you can see but I have no idea where they're from. Unfortunately Nan's memory is not the best and she can't remember where she got them from. Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

They are great-looking spoons. The pattern is called Fiddle and Thread, and they are engraved with a family crest. The spoons are likely from the Victorian period and are silver-plated, but the maker is unknown to me.

Hi Trev

Thanks for that info. I tried looking at the hallmarks through here to try and work out where they were made but I couldn't decipher them. Didn't realise it was a family crest that's interesting, I think my sister has some more of the collection, maybe the hallmarks are a little clearer on those.
