Unsure what I've found - Silver Plated Tankerd

Hey Trev ,
Good eye the mark seems very close but a little different the marks under the hand look the same . I wonder do people make fakes of theses items?
I am still very thirsty for knowledge about this tankard? Steve

There are usually variations in manufacturer's marks, there is no problem with yours, and can't see any reason for anyone to create a fake. It is a pint pub mug, engraved with the owner's monogram; the crowned 'VR' is a verification mark, would date no later than the end of Queen Victoria's reign in 1901, the number underneath, which looks like '87' to me, would indicate the town, county or other authority that checked the capacity...
