Would appreciate help identifying marks on small stand - S 6112?

Post by Aleighhart »

I've spent many, many hours now searching for information on this piece, and learned a lot about silver (and hollow ware and sheffield plate...), but am still hitting dead ends. If any of you could help point me in the right direction, i would be so grateful.

This dish is about 8" diameter and has a pedestal that's about 3". The underside rim of the tray part is marked "6112" which i assume is an item number...? The bottom on the pedestal part has a plain "S" mark and possibly a little squareish "c" shape. The closest possible match i've found is the S being the date for a Stieff piece (1952), but then i couldn't find a hallmark match for Stieff and didn't see any item numbers that high in their catalog from that year. :/ Also, any guesses to the flower type on the top of th dish? I like the clean lines of this.
