Sheffield tea/coffee/chocolate pot—when? who?
Sheffield tea/coffee/chocolate pot—when? who?
I've been hunting on this site and others for data. Initials of maker or firm are OCS Co. The pictorial marks clearly indicate Sheffield (the crown) but I cannot find a heraldic tower (Newcastle has a heraldic castle—three towers not one) in the marks listed on this site. Cannot make out enough of the third pictorial mark to identify the image. Doubt it's relevant, but the numbers seem to read 8 x 6 3.
Info appreciated if and when.

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
It's a 'Q', not an 'O', that's why you have been led down the wrong track.

It is also worth noting that, although the mark uses the word Sheffield, this has no direct connection to the city of the same name in the United Kingdom. "Sheffield" is, rather annoyingly, used as a generic term in the USA for electroplate, probably because of Sheffield's one-time pre-eminence as a producer of electroplated wares.
