I'm new here and came upon this post while googling "Dixon spoon". I have a small spoon, possibly a sugar or condiment spoon that is stamped on the back with Dixon, along with a trumpet symbol and "A1". On the front it has been engraved or stamped with the word "Durrant's Hotel". I bought it in a thrift store in Texas. I would love to find more info on it. I did find online, a Durrant's hotel in London that is very old and I'm guessing someone took the spoon as a keepsake. It's a heavy spoon for its size and I'm guessing it's a silver plated piece, but I really don't know much about difference between silver and plated. Ill try to add some pictures.
Thank you in advance to anyone who may have some info.
I'm not sure my pasted links will work

Re: SPOONS MARKED DIXON
Hi, welcome to the forum. Silver plated; silver plate is the process of bonding an extremely thin layer (measured in microns) of silver to a base metal; most commonly used are copper, brass, white metal, or nickel. A1 for first quality.
