Walker and Hall Photo Frame

Post by paulyz »

Hi, I'm trying to get an idea of the age of this photo frame. There are no apparent date letters to go by. It's a small frame about the right size for a passport sized photo. Here are some pictures of the frame and the marks on it. If anyone has an idea of age it would be much appreciated!!

Hi,
W&H in a scalloped rectangle should be the mark of Walker & Hall. The mark is seen on sterling objects from Sheffield and Birmingham (after 1900 and before WW II).
EPNS on the frame stands for electro plated nickel silver.

That particular form of W&H's mark was actually in use until at least 1980 on sterling items, but we have no way of knowing how long it might have been in use on electroplated wares. The style of the frame suggests to me a date in the latter part of the 20th century (1960s onwards).
